GOD Had to Break Me to Make Me.

A Candid Conversation with Prophet Stephanie Lowden

Join us every second Tuesday of the month as we create a safe space for honest conversations, healing, testimony, and transformation.

On July 14, 2026, at 8:00 p.m., we had the honor and privilege of having a candid conversation with Prophet Stephanie Lowden.

This conversation was raw. It was honest. It was not dressed up to make pain look pretty. It was the kind of conversation that makes you sit still and think about what people really had to survive before you ever saw the oil on their life.

Prophet Stephanie shared from a place of truth about childhood wounds, family trauma, being falsely accused, spiritual warfare, forgiveness, detachment, motherhood, generational cycles, and what it means when GOD takes the broken pieces of a life and still uses them for His glory.

One of the most powerful things she said was, “GOD had to break me to make me.”

That statement alone carries weight.

Because sometimes we want GOD to use us without letting Him process us. Sometimes we want the anointing without the crushing. Sometimes we see someone moving in power and forget there was a cost behind the oil.

But this conversation reminded us that glory does not always come easy. Sometimes the person you see standing had to survive things that almost took their mind, their heart, their family, their peace, and their identity.

And still, GOD kept them.

The Story Behind the Story

Prophet Stephanie made it clear that she was not concerned about image. She talked about being falsely accused and still standing in the truth of what GOD was doing in her life.

That is powerful because image can keep people bound.

Sometimes people are more worried about how they look than how free they are. They are more worried about what people think than what GOD is trying to heal. But there comes a point in your life when you realize reputation cannot deliver you. Approval cannot heal you. Image cannot save you.

Only GOD can do that.

And sometimes GOD will allow your story to become uncomfortable so the truth can come out of it.

This was not a conversation about pretending everything was okay. It was a conversation about what happens when GOD takes a life that has been through fire and still brings purpose out of it.

When Childhood Shapes What You Carry

Prophet Stephanie shared about growing up with five siblings and being the first daughter. She talked about experiencing affliction and not always understanding why she seemed to carry so much.

What stood out was how she was able to look back and recognize that even in the pain, there were things she learned. She did not excuse what hurt her, but she was able to say that she took what was good and applied it to her life.

That is maturity.

Healing does not mean we pretend nothing happened. Healing does not mean we call wrong right. Healing does not mean we deny the pain.

Healing means we allow GOD to show us what needs to be broken off, what needs to be healed, and what He can still use.

Sometimes we inherit strength and pain from the same place. Sometimes we learn how to survive from people who also wounded us. Sometimes we have to ask GOD to help us separate the seed from the scar.

Little Stephanie Still Had Fire

One beautiful part of the conversation was hearing about little Stephanie.

She described herself as vibrant, curious, outgoing, and courageous. She loved plants, animals, people, and new experiences. She was not hard to please. She joined activities, stepped out, challenged herself, and carried fire even as a young girl.

That mattered because pain does not erase who GOD created you to be.

Sometimes trauma tries to bury the child who was once curious. It tries to silence the girl who once believed she could do anything. It tries to make you forget the version of yourself that loved freely, dreamed boldly, and moved with courage.

But GOD knows how to reach back into the beginning and remind you who you were before life tried to name you by your wounds.

There was always something in her.

There was always purpose in her.

There was always fire in her.

And even when life tried to break her, it could not destroy what GOD placed inside of her.

Detachment Can Be Survival

One of the deepest parts of the conversation was when Prophet Stephanie talked about detachment.

She explained that somewhere along the way, she had to detach mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. Detachment became a way to protect her heart, her emotions, and her mind from what kept happening around her.

That is something many people understand but may not have had words for.

Sometimes people call you cold, but they do not know what you had to shut down to survive.

Sometimes people call you distant, but they do not know how many times your heart was mishandled.

Sometimes people say you do not care, but they do not realize you had to learn how not to break every time someone hurt you.

Detachment can protect you for a season, but GOD still has to show you what parts of you He wants to heal. Because survival can keep you alive, but healing teaches you how to live.

There is a difference.

Survival says, “I cannot feel this right now.”

Healing says, “GOD, help me feel without being destroyed by what I feel.”

Family Wounds Are Real

This conversation touched on something many people struggle to talk about: family wounds.

Family wounds can be some of the deepest wounds because they come from places that were supposed to be safe. It is one thing to be hurt by strangers. It is another thing to be wounded by the people who were supposed to cover you, protect you, guide you, and love you well.

Prophet Stephanie spoke honestly about family pain, parental wounds, generational patterns, and how those things can affect children, grandchildren, and relationships.

This is why healing is so important.

What we do not heal, we can pass down.

What we do not confront, we can repeat.

What we do not let GOD touch, we may end up bleeding into the people we love.

That does not mean we are hopeless. It means we have to be honest.

We have to let GOD show us where the cycle started, where it entered, where it spread, and where it needs to stop.

Forgiving Without the Apology

A powerful part of Prophet Stephanie’s testimony was her honesty about not receiving the apology she deserved.

That is hard.

Many people are waiting on words they may never hear.

“I am sorry.”

“I hurt you.”

“I should have protected you.”

“I was wrong.”

“You did not deserve that.”

Those words may never come from the person who hurt you. And that is a grief of its own.

But Prophet Stephanie reminded us that waiting on an apology can become another prison. Sometimes people are gone. Sometimes people are unwilling. Sometimes people are too broken to admit the damage they caused.

And yet, GOD still calls us to heal.

Forgiveness does not mean what happened was okay. Forgiveness does not mean access is restored. Forgiveness does not mean trust is automatic. Forgiveness does not mean you must pretend the wound was not real.

Forgiveness means you refuse to let what happened keep controlling your soul.

Sometimes you have to forgive without closure.

Sometimes you have to forgive without an apology.

Sometimes you have to let GOD handle what they never had the courage to face.

The Cost Behind the Oil

Near the end of the conversation, there was a powerful reminder that when you see someone anointed, you do not always know what it cost them.

You may see the preaching, the prophecy, the strength, the boldness, and the fire, but you do not see every tear. You do not see every betrayal. You do not see every violation. You do not see every dark place GOD pulled them out of.

The oil has a cost.

The anointing has a crushing.

The testimony has blood on it.

That is why we should be careful not to judge people by what we see on the outside. Some people are not loud because they want attention. They are loud because they survived silence. Some people are not bold because they are trying to prove something. They are bold because GOD gave them their voice back.

Prophet Stephanie’s story reminded us that some people had to go through the trenches for GOD to use them the way He does.

And when GOD brings someone through that much, their life becomes proof that He still restores.

GOD Can Heal What Hurt You

This conversation was not just about pain. It was about GOD.

It was about the GOD who heals broken hearts.

It was about the GOD who keeps people in the middle of family crisis.

It was about the GOD who gives people strength to forgive.

It was about the GOD who can take trauma, loss, betrayal, and rejection and still bring purpose out of it.

Prophet Stephanie prayed for those dealing with family crisis, brokenness, guilt, affliction, marriage wounds, ministry wounds, and pain caused by people. She prayed for GOD to heal broken hearts, renew spirits, remove dead weight, and help people stop looking for affirmation and apologies from man.

That prayer was needed.

Because so many people are still carrying dead weight from what happened in their homes, their families, their marriages, their ministries, and their childhood.

But GOD can mend the broken pieces.

He can straighten crooked places.

He can heal what still hurts.

He can give you a new heart.

Takeaways from the Conversation

GOD can use the parts of your story that almost broke you.

Your image is not more important than your freedom.

Childhood wounds can affect adulthood, but they do not have to rule it.

Detachment can be survival, but GOD still wants to heal the heart.

Family wounds must be faced so cycles do not keep repeating.

Forgiveness may be necessary even when the apology never comes.

You can honor what was good without denying what was painful.

The anointing has a cost, and the oil often comes through crushing.

Transparency helps somebody else know they can survive too.

GOD is still able to heal broken hearts and make all things new.
